Kala cotton is an indigenous variety of cotton grown in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India. It is one of the oldest genetically pure cotton species in the world and is known for its drought-resistance, resilience, and ability to thrive without synthetic inputs or irrigation. This fabric is woven by artisans of Khamir Craft and further embroidered by the Rabari community in Kutch, using a ‘Macchi Kanta’ stitch technique which is often used to stitch two individual panels together.
  • 100% HANDLOOM COTTON DRY CLEAN ONLY WITH A GOOD AND CAREFUL DRY CLEANER Note: Dyed with natural indigo, this piece may show slight patchiness or fade over time. These are signs of slow, mindful craftsmanship, not imperfections.
